Facebook Invite for Four Calls for Submissions
Overview
For the first time, we have secured an external venue for multiple outside environmental exhibitions. This venue is the Grounds of Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre in Oakville, Ontario. Artists from around the world are invited to submit installations for this exhibition.
- Fibre materials or fibre techniques are acceptable.
- The Festival Curators, Dawne Rudman and Gareth Bate, will draw from submissions to determine an exhibition at this site.
- It must be possible for the artwork to withstand November weather (rain, wind, cold, even freezing rain, snow and the weight of snow).
- We are open to the idea of the piece changing over time. But it must still look good.
- The works may be freestanding/self-supporting, or have some ground steaks.
- There are trees in the area, both evergreen and deciduous, which may be used for attachment.
Disclaimer: The World of Threads Festival is not be responsible for deterioration of the works caused by being outside, or for damage due to vandilism. The works will be checked everyday but there won't be someone watching them at all times.

Fees for Artists
Please pay close attention to the fee structure.
Submission Fee: $30
To submit there is a $30 fee.
This covers our costs and time for processing the submissions and working with the multiple galleries and curators. If you would like to submit an additional round of pieces you may do another submission by paying an additional $30..
Exhibition Fees (Only for Artists Who Are Selected)
Because we are a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers and we don't have the revenue of a gallery, we need to charge exhibition fees to run a festival of this scope. Instead of having high submission fees, we are instead charging only the artists who are actually selected to exhibit. The fee for selected work will be based on the criteria below. We may decide to exhibit one or more of your installations. Should multiple pieces be selected by Festival Curators, an additional fee applies for each installation selected.
Which category a work falls into is at the discretion of the Festival Chair.
